Construction of a Durga Puja Pandal (Stage-6) – Lake Market, Kolkata

A distant approach view of the pandal with idols of Lord Shiva seated on the ‘Damru’ on either side of the walkway, as if, acting as sentinels overlooking the scene of the battle between Goddess Durga and the demon king Mahishasura.    (The canopy in front shall be removed on the day of Inauguration of the Durga Puja pandal)


A close-up view of Lord Shiva idols which adorn the pandal space. It is said that the long tresses on Lord Shiva’s head control the incessant water flow of River Ganges to prevent inundation and devastation of Mother Earth. The coils of the snake on hands and neck signify the worries and problems through which one should stay composed
